Wow, there were a lot of colours at the Holi festival!

Wow, I felt so exhausted when I completed my Orienteering course!

Today, Room 7 had Orienteering. It was our third lesson and the second to last lesson with coach Leon and Irene. Coach Leon and Irene put the controls around our whole school and it was hard to find the controls because I didn’t feel confident reading the map. Some of my classmates were still looking for the controls when I had completed the courses. It was very hard and long because our school is very big.

Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record our third Orienteering lesson.

Wow, we saw Katie Glynn!

Today, the whole school went to the hall to see Katie Glynn. Katie Glynn talked to us and she told us that she represented New Zealand in the London 2012 Olympics. We also watched a video of her last game of field hockey. Then Katie told us her injury. It was cool to meet Katie Glynn.

The heat energy from the sun is burning everything!

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand the impact of heat energy in our common home.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I find evidence of heat energy around our school.

Friday 24th of March, Room 7 did orienteering. Our coach is Leon and Irene. They gave us a map of our school and a scoring paper. We needed to find the controls to clip our scoring paper every time we reached a point on the map. It was tiring but we has so much fun.

I wish I can go and buy something at Sylvia Park again!

During the weekends we went to Sylvia Park to buy some groceries and a walk around the shops.

It took us ten minutes to get there. We parked under Pak'n'save. Then we walked to the food court.

My dad and my little brother Justin was playing on the playground. At the playground there was a slide, a tunnel, tic tac toe and a rock climbing wall. There was a bench for the parents to sit on. It was very hot inside the playground. After that my dad bought us some food.

My dad bought Justin and I some MC Donald's. I got a hunger buster. In my hunger buster, I had a cheese burger, French Fries, six pack chicken mcnuggets and a cup of Fanta. Justin got a happy meal. In his happy meal, he had a happy meal toy, French Fries, a pack of six chicken mcnuggets and a cup of Coke. Justin and I also had ice cream. My dad and mum had seafood and fries.

After we had our dinner we went to the Warehouse. I bought two DVDs for Justin and I to watch and my mum bought a jumper for Justin.

After that we went to go and buy some grocery from Pak'n'save. I only bought juice for my lunch. then my mum bought all the other things that we needed. We went home afterwards.

My favourite part of the day was buying the two DVDs because we watched one of the DVDs and it was funny. I enjoyed going to Sylvia Park!

Wow, we have a lot of electronic devices!

       
  Analysis:
1. Lupe has the most number of electronic devices. 
2. Almost everyone in Room 7 have four stove tops.
3. Few children in Room 7 have a fire place in their household. 
4. Rosie has the least number of electronic devices in her home.

 Learning intention: We are learning to conduct a statistical investigation.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I categorise the information that I want to collect, make a survey, collect data, graph the data and analyse the data that I have collected.

I wish I can go whitebaiting with my family!

Learning Intention: We are learning to develop our understanding of the text that we read.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I use blabberize to record the life cycle of a whitebait.

In spring, the whitebait swim from the sea into the river mouth.
They swim upstream and grow into adult fish.
In the autumn, they swim back down the river and lay their eggs on the bank.
The larvae hatch out and swim out to sea.

Skateboarding onto a ramp is very scary!

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a verbal recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write a verbal recount about skateboarding.
Today was our last skateboarding lesson with coach Aiden and Martin. They taught us how to ride a skateboard onto a ramp. I was very scared when I was skateboarding up on the ramp because I was scared of falling.
